Notes

The 2005-06 campaign was a turbulent year of transition for Stuttgart as Die Schwaben ultimately secured a 9th-place mid-table finish in the Bundesliga. The season was defined by the early, high-profile sacking of legendary manager Giovanni Trapattoni in February, whose brief, tense tenure was marked by internal struggles and public criticism. Despite the instability, the attack was spearheaded by the joint top league scorers, the Danish-Serbian duo of Jon Dahl Tomasson and Danijel Ljuboja, who each netted 8 crucial goals. Armin Veh took over to stabilize the team after the winter chaos, but the year remains memorable for the off-field drama and the eventual exit from the UEFA Cup in the Round of 32.
