Notes

The 2005 St. Louis Rams season was highlighted by a high-powered offense that ranked in the top ten in the league for total yards and passing yards. Led by Pro Bowl wide receiver Torry Holt, who recorded 1,331 receiving yards and nine touchdowns, the team remained competitive throughout the year and achieved notable victories, including a sweep of the rival New Orleans Saints. The season also featured the emergence of Steven Jackson as a premier lead back, surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the first time in his career. The 2005 St. Louis Cardinals enjoyed a dominant season, finishing with a league-best 100-62 record and capturing their second consecutive NL Central title. Led by NL MVP Albert Pujols and Cy Young Award winner Chris Carpenter, the team featured a formidable pitching staff that led the majors in ERA and a high-powered offense that secured a postseason sweep of the San Diego Padres. The 2001 NL Rookie of the Year and a three-time MVP, Albert Pujols is a legendary first baseman who led the St. Louis Cardinals to two World Series championships and became one of only four players in MLB history to record 700 career home runs and 3,000 hits.
