In 2005, the Washington franchise (then the Redskins) enjoyed a resurgent season under legendary head coach Joe Gibbs, finishing with a 10-6 record and securing their first playoff berth since 1999. The year was highlighted by a high-powered offense featuring record-setting performances from receiver Santana Moss and running back Clinton Portis, as well as a top-ten defense that helped the team win their final five regular-season games to clinch a wild-card victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
