Notes

The 2006-07 campaign delivered a dramatic, hard-fought return to the top flight for Genoa as The Griffins secured an impressive 3rd-place finish in Serie B. Crucially, this secured an automatic promotion spot, ending a long absence from Serie A with successive promotions from Serie C1. Spearheading the attack was the Brazilian striker Adaílton, whose 11 goals proved vital, bolstered by the January arrival of Marco Di Vaio. The season culminated in unforgettable final-day drama against fellow promoters Napoli, where a tense 0-0 draw sparked a historic pitch invasion and joint celebration, marking the club's triumphant return to the top tier.
