Notes
The 2006 period cemented Alessandro Del Piero’s status as a national icon, headlined by his triumphant role in Italy's fourth World Cup victory. His tournament was immortalized by a legendary performance in the semi-final against hosts Germany, where he finished a lethal counter-attack with a signature curling strike to secure the win in the final minute of extra time. After contributing to the Azzurri’s success in Berlin, the veteran forward’s leadership and undiminished class remained a nostalgic focal point for fans, proving his enduring importance as one of Italy's most beloved and clinical playmakers.
