Notes

The 2007-08 campaign was a season of legendary FA Cup glory for Barnsley, which completely overshadowed their 18th-place finish in the Championship. The Tykes became the ultimate giant-killers, producing one of the most memorable cup runs in their history by sensationally defeating two Premier League powerhouses. A dramatic 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Anfield, sealed by Captain Brian Howard's injury-time winner, was followed by a stunning 1-0 quarter-final upset of Chelsea at Oakwell. Howard's 13 league goals anchored the team's domestic form, but the season was defined by the thrilling, unexpected run to the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, which remains a cherished, defining chapter for the Oakwell faithful.
