Notes

The 2007-08 campaign delivered a dramatic and memorable survival for Cagliari as Casteddu finished a crucial 14th in Serie A, defying a season marked by managerial turmoil and an intense relegation battle that saw the club rely on three different head coaches. The team was anchored by a spectacular late-season resurgence under Davide Ballardini, which saw them pull themselves out of the bottom three. Leading the charge was the young, on-loan striker Robert Acquafresca, whose 10 goals proved vital for their top-flight status. The club's gritty perseverance was highlighted by crucial late-season victories at the Stadio Sant'Elia, including a 3-1 win over Champions League holders AC Milan and a sensational 2-1 defeat of eventual champions Inter Milan, securing their place in the top division.
