Notes

The 2007-08 campaign delivered a thrilling push for promotion for Carlisle United as the Cumbrians secured a fantastic 4th-place finish in League One. Leading the charge was the clinical strike partnership of Joe Garner and Danny Graham, who both notched 14 league goals in a season built on attacking flair and a formidable home record at Brunton Park. Despite the heartache of a narrow play-off semi-final defeat to Leeds United, it was a standout year under manager John Ward that marked the club's highest league finish in over two decades and remains a proud, defining chapter in their modern history.
