Notes

The 2007-08 campaign delivered a season of soaring ambition for Darlington as The Quakers surged to a crucial 6th-place finish in League Two, securing a coveted spot in the promotion play-offs. Leading the charge was the prolific Tommy Wright, whose 13 decisive goals anchored the attack in a campaign built on defensive solidity under manager Dave Penney. The season culminated in a dramatic play-off semi-final against Rochdale, a tie immortalized by Ian Miller's stoppage-time winner in the first leg at a packed Darlington Arena, before The Quakers were ultimately eliminated in a heartbreaking penalty shootout, marking their closest attempt yet to reach League One and remaining a defining chapter in the club's modern history.
