Notes

The 2007-08 campaign delivered a stable, mid-table finish for VfL Bochum as Die Unabsteigbaren secured 12th place in the Bundesliga under coach Marcel Koller. Leading the charge was the brilliant new signing Stanislav Šesták, who successfully took over from the previous season's top scorer, Theofanis Gekas. Šesták's phenomenal haul of 13 goals proved decisive, placing him as the league's third-best scorer behind the likes of Luca Toni and Diego, in a campaign built on grit and an impressive attacking spark that also saw him contribute nine assists. The season featured strong performances in the Ruhr derbies, a run to the DFB-Pokal Second Round, and moments of pride at the rewirpowerSTADION, cementing the club's hard-fought status in the top flight.
