Notes

The 2008-09 campaign delivered a respectable mid-table finish for Atalanta as La Dea secured 11th place in Serie A, their third consecutive season in the top flight. Leading the charge was the clinical striker Sergio Floccari, whose 12 goals proved vital in a season built on a formidable home record under manager Luigi Delneri. It was a standout year that remains most famous for the spectacular 3-1 victory over José Mourinho's eventual champions, Inter Milan, a result celebrated as a tactical masterclass.
