Notes - Away shirt as worn by Schweinsteiger in the 2008 European Championships, where Germany lost out in the Final to Spain. One of the most memorable goals from the tournament was scored by Ballack when he hit a blistering long-distance free kick in a 1-0 win over Austria. Schweinsteiger lost his place in the starting 11 as he made two substitute appearances in the group stage. He returned to the starting 11 and was instrumental in Germany's 3-2 win, scoring one goal and setting up the other two. He also scored his country's first goal in the 3-2 semifinal victory against Turkey
