The 2008 Buffalo Bills season was highlighted by an explosive 5-1 start, marking their best opening to a season since 1995 and briefly placing them in sole possession of first place in the AFC East. Despite a 7-9 finish, the team featured standout individual performances, including Marshawn Lynch's second consecutive 1,000-yard rushing season and a breakout year from wide receiver Lee Evans, who also surpassed 1,000 yards. The season also saw the emergence of rookie Leodis McKelvin as a dynamic return specialist and the arrival of Pro Bowl defensive tackle Marcus Stroud, who helped anchor a competitive defense. A seventh-round pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, Stevie Johnson was a standout wide receiver who became the first player in Buffalo Bills history to record three consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons.
