The 2008 Baltimore Ravens enjoyed a remarkable resurgence under rookie head coach John Harbaugh and rookie quarterback Joe Flacco, finishing with an 11-5 record and securing a wild-card berth. Behind a dominant defense led by NFL Defensive Player of the Year James Harrison and safety Ed Reed, who led the league in interceptions, the team advanced to the AFC Championship game after impressive postseason road victories over the Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans. The 18th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, Joe Flacco was a franchise-defining quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens who led the team to a Super Bowl XLVII victory and earned Super Bowl MVP honors during a historic 2012 postseason run.
