Notes

The 2009-10 campaign was a deeply frustrating season of unfulfilled promise for Liverpool, culminating in a disappointing 7th-place finish in the Premier League, their lowest in over a decade. Under manager Rafael Benítez, the side struggled with inconsistency and the upheaval of Xabi Alonso's departure, despite the emergence of stars like Glen Johnson and the presence of club icon Steven Gerrard. Leading the attack was the talismanic Fernando Torres, whose 18 Premier League goals proved decisive despite him battling injuries throughout the year. Although the domestic campaign failed to deliver, The Reds found some solace in a run to the UEFA Europa League semi-finals, a final European adventure under Benítez that remains a memorable highlight for the faithful.
