Notes

The 2009-10 campaign was an exhilarating but ultimately heartbreaking one for Manchester United as The Red Devils finished a close second in the Premier League, missing out on an unprecedented fourth consecutive title by a single point. Leading the charge was the sensational Wayne Rooney, whose career-best 26 league goals proved decisive in a campaign built on attacking brilliance and a determined push for silverware. The team successfully defended the League Cup, defeating Aston Villa in the final, and featured the creative genius of Dimitar Berbatov and the veteran command of Paul Scholes. It was a fiercely competitive year that fell just short of ultimate domestic glory but remains a defining chapter of Sir Alex Ferguson's late reign.
