Notes

The 2009-10 campaign was a dream season for Sampdoria as the Blucerchiati, under manager Luigi Delneri, surged to a spectacular 4th-place finish in Serie A. This landmark success secured a coveted spot in the UEFA Champions League play-off rounds, a true high point for the club. Leading the charge was the clinical striker Giampaolo Pazzini, whose 19 goals proved decisive in a campaign built on the lethal 'Pazza' attacking partnership he formed with the brilliant Antonio Cassano and the inspirational captaincy of Angelo Palombo. It was an unforgettable year that marked a triumphant, unexpected return to the top of Italian football and remains a defining chapter in the club's history.
