In their 2010 inaugural MLS season, the Philadelphia Union finished 7th in the Eastern Conference and 14th overall with an 8-15-7 record, totaling 31 points. Managed by Peter Nowak, the expansion team played its first home matches at Lincoln Financial Field before moving to PPL Park. Sebastien Le Toux led the offense with 14 goals and 11 assists, including a hat-trick in their first home win. Despite a competitive debut, the young squad missed the MLS Cup Playoffs and was eliminated early in U.S. Open Cup qualifying.
