In the 2010 MLS season, FC Dallas enjoyed a historic campaign under head coach Schellas Hyndman, finishing third in the Western Conference with a 12-4-14 record. The team set MLS records with a 19-match unbeaten streak and a 12-game road unbeaten streak. Midfielder David Ferreira was named the league's Most Valuable Player. In the postseason, Dallas defeated Real Salt Lake and the LA Galaxy to reach their first-ever MLS Cup Final, where they ultimately fell 2-1 to the Colorado Rapids in extra time.
