The 2011-12 campaign delivered an historic triumph for Greuther Fürth as Die Kleeblätter, under manager Mike Büskens, clinched the 2. Bundesliga championship and finally achieved their long-awaited promotion to the top flight for the very first time. Spearheading the sensational attack was the powerful striker Olivier Occéan, whose 17 league goals earned him the Golden Boot (with the most assists) and proved decisive in a season built on consistency and ambition. This stellar year, which also included a memorable run to the DFB-Pokal quarter-finals, remains a defining, golden chapter in the club's history.
