Notes

The 2011-12 campaign was a season of ultimate redemption for Sampdoria as the Blucerchiati secured their hard-fought promotion back to Serie A via the play-offs after a tumultuous start that saw a mid-season managerial change. The appointment of Giuseppe Iachini proved pivotal, galvanising the side to finish a crucial 6th place and mount a successful play-off charge. Leading the line was the prolific striker Nicola Pozzi, whose 16 goals proved decisive, including a vital penalty in the play-off semi-final that secured their passage to the final. It was a triumphant year built on grit, renewed unity, and the enduring passion of the fans, marking a defining chapter of the club's successful return to the top flight.
