Notes

The 2011-12 campaign was a season of exhilaration and historic achievement for Southampton as The Saints surged to a spectacular second-place finish in the Championship, clinching back-to-back promotions to return to the Premier League. Spearheading the sensational charge was their talismanic local hero Rickie Lambert, whose phenomenal 27 league goals and 41 total goal contributions saw him crowned the Championship Player of the Year. Under manager Nigel Adkins, a core of emerging talents like Adam Lallana and Morgan Schneiderlin flourished, driving the team to a remarkable season built on a relentless attack and a seven-year wait for top-flight football. It was a golden year that marked a true resurgence for the club and remains an unforgettable chapter for the St Mary's faithful.
