Notes

The 2012-13 campaign delivered a dramatic, hard-fought Premier League survival for Aston Villa as The Villans finished 15th with the youngest squad in the division. The season was defined by the stunning arrival of star striker Christian Benteke, whose sensational and vital haul of 19 league goals, a club record in the Premier League era, proved decisive in securing top-flight status and earned him PFA Young Player of the Year nomination. This memorable year, which included a run to the League Cup semi-finals, was a true fight for survival anchored by the emergence of Benteke's formidable talent.
