Notes

The 2012-13 campaign saw Borussia Mönchengladbach, under coach Lucien Favre, consolidate their Bundesliga status with an 8th-place finish. After being knocked out of the Champions League play-off round by Dynamo Kyiv, Die Fohlen embarked on a run to the UEFA Europa League Round of 32, where they fell to Lazio. The attacking threat was spearheaded by Venezuelan star Juan Arango, who was the club's top overall scorer with 9 goals, while the team also featured emerging talents like Marc-André ter Stegen and a young Granit Xhaka. It was a solid year of transition that established them as a consistent mid-table fixture in the German top flight.
