The 2012-13 campaign was a season of consolidation and a memorable European journey for Hannover 96 as Die Roten secured a strong 9th-place finish in the Bundesliga. Leading the charge was the clinical striker Mame Biram Diouf, whose 12 league goals were vital for the side's offense. Under manager Mirko Slomka, the club advanced to the Round of 32 in the Europa League. This season remains a defining chapter in the club’s modern history, especially as it saw legendary captain Steven Cherundolo set the club record for Bundesliga appearances.
