Notes
In the 2012 Major League Soccer season, the LA Galaxy entered as defending MLS Cup and Supporters' Shield champions. After a rough 3-8-2 start that left them at the bottom of the Western Conference, the team staged a major second-half resurgence following the return of defender Omar Gonzalez from injury. They finished 4th in the West and 8th overall. In the playoffs, the Galaxy embarked on a remarkable run, ultimately defeating the Houston Dynamo -1 in the MLS Cup final to successfully defend their title and capture their fourth league championship.
