Notes

The 2012-13 campaign delivered a valiant but heart-breaking season for Peterborough United as The Posh finished 22nd in the Championship and were relegated to League One on the final day. Despite the drop, their final tally of 54 points was the highest ever recorded by a relegated team in Championship history. The season was defined by the sensational arrival of young forward Dwight Gayle, who led the scoring charts with 13 crucial goals in his 29 appearances, anchoring an attack that also featured the mercurial Lee Tomlin. It was a memorable year of thrilling, attacking football under Darren Ferguson that ultimately fell just short of survival.
