Notes

The 2012-13 campaign was the season of Gareth Bale's transformation into a world-beater for Tottenham Hotspur. Under manager André Villas-Boas, Spurs achieved a club-record 72 Premier League points and reached the Europa League quarter-finals, though they agonisingly finished 5th and missed the Champions League. Leading the charge was the sensational Welshman, Gareth Bale, whose 21 league goals, many of them spectacular, long-range winners, earned him both the PFA Player and Young Player of the Year awards. His dazzling, unplayable form, highlighted by the team's first win at Old Trafford since 1989, made this season an unforgettable, if ultimately frustrating, chapter that culminated in his world-record transfer to Real Madrid.
