Notes

In their second Major League Soccer season, the Vancouver Whitecaps made a significant turnaround under new head coach Martin Rennie. Finishing 5th in the Western Conference and 12th overall with an 11-13-10 record, they became the first Canadian team in league history to qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs, though they were eliminated in the knockout round by the LA Galaxy. The team also set an MLS record by keeping a clean sheet for the first 427 minutes of the season.
