The 2013-14 campaign delivered a historic season for RB Leipzig as Die Roten Bullen secured a crucial 2nd-place finish in the 3. Liga, earning a dramatic and immediate promotion to the 2. Bundesliga in their first-ever season in the professional German leagues. The relentless attack was spearheaded by captain Daniel Frahn, whose 19 league goals proved vital, and featured the exciting emergence of young future stars like Yussuf Poulsen and Joshua Kimmich. This rapid ascent, achieved just five years after the club's founding under manager Alexander Zorniger, remains a defining and pivotal chapter in the club's modern history.
