In the 2013 MLS season, the Houston Dynamo finished 4th in the Eastern Conference with a 14-11-9 record. Despite dealing with inconsistency from injuries and international absences, they mounted a strong playoff run. They defeated the Montreal Impact and New York Red Bulls before falling 2-1 on aggregate to eventual champions Sporting Kansas City in the Eastern Conference Championship. Goalkeeper Tally Hall played every minute of the regular season, while Giles Barnes led the squad with 9 goals.
