In the 2014 Major League Soccer season, the Chicago Fire finished 9th in the Eastern Conference and 15th overall under head coach Frank Yallop. The team compiled a 6-10-18 regular-season record and missed the playoffs. However, they set a new MLS record for the most ties in a single season with 18 draws.
