In the 2014 Major League Soccer season, the LA Galaxy enjoyed a historic campaign, finishing 2nd in the Western Conference and overall standings with a 17-7-10 record. Led by head coach Bruce Arena, the team featured a dominant attack that led the league in scoring and goal differential. In the postseason, the Galaxy advanced past Real Salt Lake and the Seattle Sounders to reach the MLS Cup. They defeated the New England Revolution 2-1 in extra time on a game-winning goal by league MVP Robbie Keane, capturing a record-breaking fifth MLS Cup title.
