The 2014-15 campaign delivered a season of soaring ambition for Macclesfield Town, as The Silkmen finished a competitive 6th in the Conference Premier, narrowly missing the play-offs for a return to the Football League. Spearheading the charge was Waide Fairhurst, whose 10 goals, including a famous halfway-line wonder strike, proved vital in a season built on moments of individual brilliance and which culminated in a successful Cheshire Senior Cup victory under manager John Askey.
