The 2014-15 campaign was a season of turbulent transition for Nurnberg as Der Club secured a mid-table 9th-place finish in the 2. Bundesliga following relegation. The year saw a managerial change from Valérien Ismaël to René Weiler in November, with the team anchored by new striker Jakub Sylvestr, whose 9 goals led the scoring charts. It was a pivotal, though frustrating, season that marked the beginning of a difficult but necessary rebuilding phase for the club.
