The 2014 campaign delivered a respectable 9th-place finish for Santos in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. Leading the charge was the sensational young striker Gabriel Barbosa, whose 8 league goals announced his emergence despite the season's turbulence and a managerial change. It was a transitional year that cemented 'Gabigol' as the club's next homegrown star.
