Notes

The 2014-15 campaign was a season of turbulent transition for Nurnberg as Der Club secured a mid-table 9th-place finish in the 2. Bundesliga following relegation. The year saw a managerial change from Valérien Ismaël to René Weiler in November, with the team anchored by new striker Jakub Sylvestr, whose 9 goals led the scoring charts. It was a pivotal, though frustrating, season that marked the beginning of a difficult but necessary rebuilding phase for the club.. The 2015-16 campaign delivered a powerful surge for 1 FC Nürnberg as Der Club finished a spectacular 3rd in the 2 Bundesliga, securing a coveted spot in the promotion play-off. Spearheading the attack was the prolific forward Niclas Füllkrug, whose 14 goals proved vital in a season built on renewed ambition under manager René Weiler. It was a heartbreaking year, ultimately defined by the narrow play-off loss to Eintracht Frankfurt, but the season remains a pivotal chapter that proved the club's potential for a top-flight return.
