Notes

The 2015-16 campaign was a season of unprecedented chaos and spectacular failure for Chelsea, the reigning Premier League champions. The team, starting under José Mourinho before the arrival of interim manager Guus Hiddink, collapsed spectacularly to a deeply disappointing 10th-place finish, failing to secure any European football. Leading the line was the ever-controversial Diego Costa, whose 12 league goals (16 overall) provided one of the few attacking sparks in a turbulent year. The season's true legacy, however, remains the infamous "Battle of the Bridge", a dramatic 2-2 draw against rivals Tottenham Hotspur that officially ended Spurs' title hopes and famously crowned 5000-1 outsiders Leicester City as champions.
