In the 2015 Major League Soccer season, the Chicago Fire endured a difficult campaign, finishing last in both the Eastern Conference and the overall league standings with a record of 8 wins, 20 losses, and 6 ties. The team failed to qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs and set a franchise record for losses in a single season, as well as finishing without a single road victory (0-12-5). Due to the poor performance, head coach Frank Yallop was dismissed in September and replaced by interim coach Brian Bliss. A bright spot for the club was their performance in the U.S. Open Cup, where they managed to reach the semifinals, and David Accam finished as the team's top scorer with 10 goals.
