Notes
The 2015-16 period was a nostalgic final chapter for Bastian Schweinsteiger as the heartbeat of the German national team, culminating in his leadership during the Euro 2016 campaign. Serving as the side's inspirational captain, the "Fussballgott" provided a vintage moment of magic by scoring a clinical injury-time goal against Ukraine, a strike that celebrated his enduring class and legendary status. Despite battling injury, Schweinsteiger’s veteran presence and tactical intelligence were vital in guiding Die Mannschaft to the semi-finals, ensuring he concluded his illustrious 121-cap international career as one of the nation’s greatest ever icons.
