Notes

The 2015-16 campaign delivered a triumphant return to the Spanish elite for UD Las Palmas, who finished a respectable 11th in their first top-flight season in thirteen years. Los Amarillos, fresh off their thrilling promotion play-off victory, established an exciting, possession-based style of play, ranking highly in the league for possession and pass accuracy. Spearheading the charge was talismanic local hero Jonathan Viera, who netted 10 crucial league goals, alongside joint-top scorer Willian José. It was a rollercoaster year defined by a mid-season managerial change to Quique Setién that sparked a dramatic surge in form and cemented the island club's celebrated return to La Liga.
