Notes

The 2015-16 campaign delivered a devastating end to an era for Stuttgart as Die Schwaben were relegated from the Bundesliga for the first time in 41 years, finishing a crushing 17th. Despite the turbulent season that saw a mid-season managerial change and the league's worst defensive record (75 goals conceded), attacking midfielder Daniel Didavi provided moments of brilliance, whose 13 league goals proved vital in a desperate and ultimately unsuccessful fight for survival. The relegation was confirmed on a painful final day after a loss to Wolfsburg and remains a dark, unforgettable chapter in the club's modern history.
