The 2015-16 campaign delivered a dramatic and memorable Bundesliga survival for Werder Bremen as Die Werderaner secured their top-flight status on the final day, finishing 13th. Spearheading the charge was the returning legend, Claudio Pizarro, whose 14 crucial league goals proved decisive in the desperate fight to avoid the drop, including a famous hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen.
