Notes

The 2016-17 campaign delivered a hard-fought season of consolidation and deep cup runs for Atlético Madrid as Los Colchoneros secured a solid 3rd-place finish in La Liga and reached the semi-finals of both the Champions League and the Copa del Rey. Leading the charge was the talismanic Antoine Griezmann, whose 16 league goals proved decisive in a campaign built on defensive strength and resilience, while veteran Fernando Torres also contributed with crucial goals. It was an emotional year that marked the farewell to their historic home, the Vicente Calderón, and cemented their continued status among Europe's elite.
