Notes

The 2016-17 campaign delivered a season of soaring ambition and a heartbreaking near-miss for Leeds United as The Whites, under manager Garry Monk, dramatically challenged for a return to the Premier League. The team finished a respectable 7th in the Championship with a strong 75 points, only missing the play-offs due to an exceptionally strong top six. Leading the charge was the prolific centre-forward Chris Wood, whose incredible 27 league goals earned him the division's Golden Boot and proved decisive in a campaign built on renewed momentum, an electric atmosphere at Elland Road, and a solid run to the EFL Cup Quarter-Finals. It was a pivotal year that re-established the club as a force in the second tier and remains a defining chapter in their modern history.
