Notes

The 2016-17 campaign delivered a tense, spectacular runner-up finish for AS Roma as I Giallorossi secured 2nd place in Serie A and direct qualification to the Champions League group stage. Leading the charge was the clinical Bosnian striker Edin Džeko, whose league-leading 29 Serie A goals, earning him the prestigious Capocannoniere award, proved decisive in a high-scoring season alongside the dynamic Mohamed Salah. This memorable year was definitively marked by the emotional final match, a dramatic 3-2 victory over Genoa that clinched the final UCL spot and served as the 786th and final appearance of the legendary one-club captain, Francesco Totti.
