Notes

The 2016-17 campaign delivered a season of soaring ambition for Scunthorpe United as The Iron surged to an impressive 3rd-place finish in League One, securing a coveted spot in the promotion play-offs. Leading the charge was the sensational Josh Morris, whose 19 goals were decisive in a campaign built on consistency and manager Graham Alexander's tactical system that allowed the full-backs to 'fly forward'. It was a standout year that saw The Iron fall agonizingly short in the play-off semi-finals against Millwall, but the memory of their formidable form remains a defining chapter in the club's modern history.
