The 2017-18 campaign was a tumultuous season of high ambition and hard-won consolidation for AC Milan. Despite massive summer spending, the Rossoneri dramatically fired manager Vincenzo Montella and turned to club legend Gennaro Gattuso, who steered the ship to a hard-fought 6th-place finish and a Coppa Italia final appearance. The breakthrough star was the young striker Patrick Cutrone, whose 10 crucial goals marked him as the team's top scorer and a powerful symbol of the new era's grit.
