The 2017-18 campaign delivered a season of mid-table consolidation for Cambridge United as The U's secured a respectable 12th-place finish in League Two. The season was defined by the attacking power of striker Uche Ikpeazu, whose 12 crucial goals spearheaded the side and whose physical presence became a fan-favourite spectacle. Despite a mid-season managerial change and disappointing early exits in the cup competitions, the year is particularly remembered for Ikpeazu's brilliant form before his decision to reject a new contract and pursue his ambition at a higher level, marking the end of a memorable chapter for the club.
