The 2018-19 campaign delivered a competitive season for Melbourne City, as the Cityzens finished 5th in the A-League and secured a spot in the Finals Series. Leading the charge were the club's joint-top league goalscorers, the experienced Belgian loanee Ritchie De Laet and the dynamic young Australian Riley McGree, who each netted 7 crucial goals in a campaign built on attacking promise and veteran defensive leadership. It was a vital year that saw the club establish its new core, securing a Quarter-final run in the FFA Cup and setting the stage for future success.
